Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important.

Just For fun

Just because I enjoyed using this Web 2.0!!! - I really am one of the luckiest girls in the world!

Final Project - Digital Movie

As my final project in TPTE 486 I was asked to make a video that i could incorporate into my classroom somehow. I decided to discuss why I am so passionate about teaching and what my motivation behind teaching stems from. There is some signing in the video as well - which  I hope to be 'ASL' accurate.

Animoto - Slide show

I made this video slide show using Animoto. I connected my Facebook to it and it automatically started pulling the pictures and captions from Facebook. Then, you have the option to edit the video in different ways. Essentially you can make any video you can thing of that is 30seconds or less for FREE!

inspiration 9

Four Seasons

Using Inspiration 9, I made a Chart about the seasons. I explained what seasons were, when they occur, and what in the environment is associated with them. The following is a picture of the flow chart.  This is a great resource for teachers to have a more interactive flow chart for there students to use. Also, I feel that students would enjoy this much more because they can click to find the hidden notes and see how organized and colorful they can be. There are also pictures to associate with the different headings and sub-headings.

One Minute Essay

Through out the semester, so far, I have learned how to use many different websites and programs in the classroom. My 3 favorites so far were Blogger, Webquests, and Timetoast. These were the easiest for me to use, understand, and potentially apply to my classroom. Blogger allows you to make a blog and post any updates you would like, it can be made public or just shared with some people. Blogger in my opinion would be great for class updates to the families. Webquests are great for specific lesson plans and are easy to find and make. Time Toast is the most recent one that i got to use, which allows the students to make a timeline.

TimeToast

Time Toast is a Web 2.0 that allows you to make a timeline. I think this is a great website and allows students to make a timeline in a more interactive and creative way. The timelines can be shared with anyone (just like a power point) and the website is completely free to use. I will use Time Toast in my classroom with my students for projects that require knowledge about the sequence of time. I really enjoyed this website and looking at the other timelines available.
